Men normally produce lower amounts of testosterone as they age more. Other causes of low testosterone production include:

  • High body fat
  • Use of certain medications
  • Specific health condition
  • And so on.

It is possible to have testosterone deficiency at younger ages, however; this hormones’ production decreases as you age. That is why such problem is more common among older men. Overweight men and those who have gone through poor general health conditions for a longer time are in danger of erectile dysfunction & low testosterones.

Other than testosterone replacement therapy (TRT), there are natural ways and habits that you can use for this purpose. The natural ways to increase testosterone levels include:

  • Regular exercises and lifting weights
  • Taking enough protein, fat, and carbohydrates
  • Minimizing stress and cortisol levels
  • Use of vitamin D supplements or sunbaths
  • Taking multivitamins, and other supplements (especially Zinc)
  • Taking enough sleep during the nights
  • Having regular sex intercourse
  • Avoiding estrogen-like chemical
  • Limited use of alcoholic drinks.

People with less than 300 nanograms per deciliter are identified as having low blood testosterone levels. They normally report symptoms such as:

  • Fatigue
  • Low sex drive
  • Erectile dysfunction
  • Reduced muscle mass
  • Depression
  • Decrease of beard and body hair
  • Infertility issues
  • Development of breast tissue
  • Osteoporosis or loss of bone density

The development of testosterone deficiency before puberty eliminates (or delays) the manifestation of male sexual secondary signs in teenage boys such as voice deepening, impaired penis and testicle growth, and so on.

  • Erection problems
  • Miniaturizing size of the testicles
  • Sleep disorders
  • Lower bone mass
  • Reducing sex drive

Testosterone level is important for normal male sexual function and development. Testosterone is the sex hormone that is responsible for developing male features such as facial and body hair, deeper voice, and muscle strength, as well as making sperm. Older men produce less testosterone as this normally decreases with aging. This is a serious disorder among men, as it can lead to more serious troubles and sex functioning.

Some inherent testosterone deficiency at birth while in other cases, some people may be developed later in life. This can be caused by normal aging, physical illnesses, surgery, emotional stress, or other underlying health problems.

Generally, the causes of testosterone deficiency can be classified into two groups:

Primary type

Primary testosterone deficiency is caused by the testes’ failure to make enough testosterone. common primary causes of testosterone deficiency include:

Klinefelter syndrome, undescended testicles, mumps orchitis, hemochromatosis, injury to the testicles, side effects of cancer treatment.

Secondary type

In secondary hypogonadism factors, the testicles are physically okay, but they do not function well due to hypothalamus and pituitary issues. The secondary issues include Kallmann’s syndrome, pituitary disorder, inflammatory diseases, use of certain medication, aging, obesity, HIV/AIDS, etc.

It is worth mentioning that deficit testosterone can contribute to the start or worsening of other serious diseases if not treated properly and on time. The list of potential side effects includes:

  • Risk of cardiovascular disease, death from a cardiovascular attack
  • High blood pressure, excess belly fat, and abnormal cholesterol levels increased insulin levels as a result of metabolic syndrome.
  • Increased risk of diabetes
  • Higher risk of prostate cancer, or other aggressive variants of cancer
  • Association with atherosclerotic disease

Deficit Testosterone must be taken seriously. Otherwise, you will suffer from the above-mentioned diseases. With respect to the fact, that such men’s health issues must be treated under the direct supervision of a specialist.

It is recommended to start Testosterone Replacement Therapy (TRT) most of the time. This includes the use of transdermal patches, injections, or topical gel. There used to be oral forms of testosterone, which are no longer used for their high-risk side effects. TRT elevates the body’s ability to produce more testosterone.

The person under testosterone replacement therapy should expect to receive the following treatments:

  • Using testosterone patches every day for receiving a specific amount of testosterone daily.
  • Using testosterone gels with daily application.
  • Intermuscular supplementation injection every one to four weeks
  • Implemented testosterone pallets beneath the skin, ensuring a stable level of testosterone for 4-6 months.

While using TRT, the patient must regularly visit his/her doctor for medical evaluation and the effectiveness of the body’s response to this treatment. During these doctor visits, your blood is regularly tested and should do periodic digital rectal exams.

Please remember that you should proceed with your treatment under specialist supervision, as each person has a unique medical history and body reaction. Therefore, it is advised to avoid self-prescribed medication.
